Sales of Non-Essential Goods flood E-commerce Portals like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal as Government Eases Restrictions amid lockdown in India.

There was a smile on millions of Indian sellers as they started receiving orders from people in orange and green zone areas. Recently Snapdeal has got seventy to seventy-five % of nonessential products order from many green and orange zone areas in India.

Snapdeal spokesperson said they have 5 lakh sellers onboard and around 90 percentages of their sellers in non-restricted zones areas will start to work within a week. E-commerce companies are playing a very important role in the delivery of goods all over India. E-commerce companies are working with lakhs of the seller at a micro, small, medium level, and helping them to sell their products all over India. Nonessential product sales are up to 70% percent of total eCommerce sales all over India. The eCommerce business of nonessential items was 30 billion dollars in the year 2019. Amazon has asked the Government of India to increase the list of essential items in the red zone area. Slowly business activities are growing in India.

Flipkart spokesperson has said that as people are working from home and staying at home they are searching more on self-care items and also searching for the latest smartphones to be able to work from home better. Customers in the red zone areas need to wait for more time to receive nonessential items at their home. The government of India has divided India into Zones to better identify areas, which require more attention compared to others.

Amazon has collaborated with Indian Railways to send orders via train. Ecommerce is the only business, which can be safely done in the virus situation. Ecommerce is also indirectly activating small businesses in India. Every business has products or services, but with the support of eCommerce companies, small businesses can send their products all over India. Ecommerce companies are generating lots of indirect income for people in India like delivery agents, warehouses, etc. Ecommerce companies are also training their delivery agents in social distancing, wearing gloves, and masks. Lots of precautions are being taken by delivery agents when they are delivering products to customers. I think in few months India will be fully operational in all areas of business.

Ecommerce companies are slowly activating businesses in India. The whole cycle of business has started operating again in India. The government of India also wants to open businesses, but they are taking baby steps towards that. Even the Government receiving taxes is only possible if businesses start in India. The Coronavirus and Indian business will be moving in parallel to each other. The negative effect of Coronavirus will reduce with time but will be there for a long time. The business activities also need to be moving, so that the circulation of money is there in the business market, and basic income to run the home is available for every person in India. The government of India has handled the COVID-19 situation in a good way. If we compare with other countries in the world, India is having less case.

With the sudden increase in the eCommerce order in India. E-commerce companies are increasing their seller onboarding process. The first thing which a seller needs to have is the GST number to start selling on any eCommerce portal in India. The other important thing a seller needs to know is, if a seller is selling their products in other states via the e-commerce portal, then they also have to take GST registration in other states. To take GST registration in other states, a seller needs to show office address, renting an office for office address purpose is very costly. Renting an office is also not required by the eCommerce seller. Some people might think the virtual office is only virtual, but in reality, a virtual office is always given at a physical office location i.e. Business center or a co-working place. Ecommerce sellers can also take the low-cost benefit of meeting rooms available at co-working places. A virtual office is very flexible to use, this is the reason it can be customized to be used as per the requirement of the e-commerce business

Owner. As most of the e-commerce sellers are working from home, if they want to conduct a meeting with their client, they can easily use the audio/video meeting rooms provided by co-working space on an hourly basis. So for eCommerce sellers, the virtual office address is the best solution, because eCommerce seller will be selling their products in multiple states and they have to take GST registration in multiple states. A virtual office address can also be used to take company registration on PAN India. So in this situation, the virtual office address is the best cost-effective solution at a minimum cost of Rs.1000/per month.
